We're looking for a dedicated and service-oriented Java Backend Developer - Oracle Banking. The developer will be crucial to designing and implementing efficient, scalable, and accessible software solutions. This role aims to enhance our banking systems' performance and integration by leveraging strong Java programming skills and experience with middleware and integration platforms to facilitate seamless interaction between Oracle Banking Platform (OBPM) and external systems.

‍‍Position:  Java Backend Developer- Oracle Banking

‍Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain Java-based applications that are high-volume and low-latency.

• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing.

• Analyse user requirements to define business objectives.

• Envisioning system features and functionality.

• Ensure designs comply with specifications.

• Prepare and produce releases of software components.

• Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.

• Key bug-fixes and solution design and review with operational teams.

• Automation design in various solution components

• Application support and enhancements

• Production issue root cause analysis and solution design for the support fixes and enhancements

• Multi environment deployment and testing co-ordination for live system changes

‍Education and Core Experiences :

Java Development Expertise:

    • Over 5 years of hands-on experience in Java development.
    • Proven experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms.
    • Profound insight into Java and JEE internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management, etc).

Frameworks and Architectures:

    • Experience in the Spring Framework.
    • Expertise in developing applications using microservices architecture.
    • Hands-on experience with Object-Oriented Analysis and design using common design patterns.
    • Experience with Quarkus is a an asset.

Agile Methodologies:

    • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Database Management:

    • Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL, and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate).
    • Experience with SQL and PostgreSQL databases.
    • Experience with database versioning tools like Flyway is a plus.

Testing and Messaging:

    • Experience with unit test tools like Junit and Mockito.
    • Experience with message brokers like RabbitMQ or Kafka.

Oracle Banking Specific Knowledge:

    • In-depth knowledge of Oracle’s Banking APIs, including authentication, consumption, and integration.
    • Familiarity with the specific functionalities and endpoints provided by the Oracle Banking API Library (payments, customer profiles, account management, etc).
    • Detailed understanding of Oracle Banking Payments Module (OBPM) architecture and its capabilities.
    • Ability to configure and customize OBPM for integration needs.
    • Understanding of banking operations, payment systems, and financial regulations.

Financial Standards and Security:

    • Familiarity with financial data standards and protocols like ISO 20022, SWIFT, etc.
    • Knowledge of security best practices related to financial transactions and data protection (encryption, OAuth, SSL/TLS).
    • Awareness of compliance requirements in the banking sector, such as PCI-DSS, GDPR, or other local financial regulations.

Educational Background:

    • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Proven hands-on Software Development experience.
