Since joining Lidion Bank a year ago as a FX Manager, Sushrut has been instrumental in managing the bank's liquidity and financial strategies. We had the pleasure of speaking with Sushrut to learn more about their journey, role, and the passions that fuel their work and life outside the office.

1. Can you tell us about your journey with Lidion Bank and what initially attracted you to work here?

I joined Lidion Bank a year ago as an FX Manager. What initially attracted me to Lidion Bank was its stellar reputation in the financial industry, particularly its focus on innovation and its commitment to sustainability. I was also impressed by the career development opportunities and the supportive culture that the bank promotes.

2. What is your role at Lidion Bank, and what are your primary responsibilities?

I currently serve as the Treasury Manager. My primary responsibilities include managing the bank's liquidity, funding, and capital. I oversee cash management operations, develop strategies for investment and risk management, and ensure regulatory compliance. Additionally, I work closely with senior management to support financial planning and decision-making processes.

3. What does a typical day or week look like for you in your role?

A typical day involves monitoring cash flow, analyzing financial data, and managing the bank's investment portfolio. I also review and approve transactions, prepare reports for senior management, and liaise with other departments to ensure efficient treasury operations. Weekly, I conduct meetings to discuss performance, address challenges, and strategize for the upcoming period. Additionally, I often participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving the bank's financial processes.

4. What do you enjoy most about working at Lidion Bank?

What I enjoy most about working at Lidion Bank is the dynamic and challenging nature of my role. Every day presents new opportunities to learn and grow, and I find it rewarding to contribute to the bank’s financial stability and success. I also appreciate the collaborative and inclusive culture, where everyone's ideas and contributions are valued.

5. How would you describe the company culture at Lidion Bank?

The company culture at Lidion Bank is inclusive, innovative, and team-oriented. There's a strong emphasis on professional development and continuous learning, which is supported by various training programs and resources. The bank also promotes a healthy work-life balance and actively supports community involvement and sustainability initiatives.

6. What are you passionate about outsideof work?

Outside of work, I am passionate about several activities that keep me both physically active and mentally refreshed. I enjoy playing cricket, which not only helps me stay fit but also allows me to bond with friends through a shared love of the game. Another interest of mine is playing PUBG Battle ground, which provides an exciting and immersive experience that helps me unwind and have fun.

In addition to these activities, I make it a point to go to the gym regularly to maintain my physical fitness and overall well-being. I also love going out with friends and exploring new places, whether it's discovering a new restaurant, visiting a scenic spot, or simply enjoying a night out in the city.

Lastly, I practice meditation, which has become an essential part of my routine. Meditation helps me stay centered, reduces stress, and enhances my focus and clarity, contributing to my overall mental health.

7. How is Lidion Bank supporting your passions?

Lidion Bank supports my passions through flexible working environment, allowing me to balance work with playing cricket and going to the gym. The bank's emphasis on work-life balance gives me time to unwind. Social events and team outings organized by the bank align with my love for going out with friends and exploring new places. Additionally, Lidion Bank offers resources for mental well-being, supporting my practice of meditation and helping me stay centered and focused.

8. What advice would you give to someone considering a career in Financial Services?

My advice would be to stay adaptable and continuously seek knowledge. The financial services industry is rapidly evolving, so it’s important to keep up with new trends and technologies. Building a strong network and finding a mentor can also provide valuable guidance and opportunities for career growth. Lastly, always strive to understand the broader economic context and its impact on the financial industry.

9. Share one thing that few people know about you.

One thing that few people know about me is that I am a geek about history, politics, and the world of spy craft. I love delving into historical events, understanding political strategies, and exploring the intriguing stories of espionage. This passion often leads me to read books, watch documentaries, and engage in discussions about these fascinating topics.
