We're looking for a dedicated and service-oriented Java Backend Developer. The developer will be crucial to designing and implementing efficient, scalable, and accessible software solutions. This role aims to enhance our banking systems' performance and integration by leveraging strong Java programming skills to develop robust backend applications.

‍‍Position: Senior Java Backend Developer

‍Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain Java-based applications that are high-volume and low-latency.

• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing.

• Analyse user requirements to define business objectives.

• Envisioning system features and functionality.

• Ensure designs comply with specifications.

• Prepare and produce releases of software components.

• Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.

• Key bug-fixes and solution design and review with operational teams.

• Automation design in various solution components

• Application support and enhancements

• Production issue root cause analysis and solution design for the support fixes and enhancements

• Multi environment deployment and testing co-ordination for live system changes

‍Education and Core Experiences :

Core Competencies:

• Spring Framework: Experience in the Spring Framework.

• Microservices Architecture: Expertise in developing applications using microservices architecture.

• Agile Methodologies: Proficiency with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

• Database Management:‍

          - Experience with PostgreSQL database.

            -Understanding of database versioning tools like Flyway.

• Testing Tools: Experience with unit test tools like Junit and Mockito.‍

• Message Brokers: Familiarity with message brokers like RabbitMQ or Kafka.

• Additional Skills: Experience with Quarkus is a significant advantage.

Education:

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

• Software Development: Proven hands-on Software Development experience.

• Java Development: Over 5 years of working experience in Java development.

• Java EE Platforms: Hands-on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms.‍

• Object-Oriented Design: Proficient in Object-Oriented Analysis and design using common design patterns.

• Java Internals: Profound insight into Java and JEE internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management, etc).‍

• Database Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL, and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate).

• Web Development: Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (JSF, Wicket, GWT, Spring MVC).
